This studio portrait was taken after the North Pole expedition, probably about 1910 - 1912 as one of the shots appeared in Matt's 1912 book. This photo appeared in Peary's 1917 "Secrets of Polar Travel" - a rather rare volume. In it are some interesting details about the building of their ship, the Roosevelt.
