| This is the poster presentation Jack did (ok,
with a little help from mom). On the left are shots from
Arlington cemetery and a rubbing from the tombstone.
Jack drew Arctic animals on the right-- and listed the
important things learned from the Inuits. In the center Jack
drew Mr. Henson and the flag-- and there are lists of
highlights of his life, major
awards and ways that Maryland has honored Matthew Henson
(Jack's school is in Maryland).
Jack is in third grade at Washington Episcopal School in
Bethesda, Maryland. His teacher, Mrs. J. Thornton, organized a
"Black Facts Museum" . Everyone in the two third grade classes
picked an important African American, did a poster, dressed
like that person, and gave a 2 minute speech about that
person. Jack really enjoyed learning
about Matthew Henson.
Hope you enjoy the photos.
