Filmmaker William Miles Researches Henson

William Miles has produced over 12 film documentaries for the Public Broadcasting System. His subjects encompass the entire African American experience:
  • Men of Bronze which opened at the 1977 New York Film Festival. This movie documents African American soldiers from the 369th U.S.Infantry Battalion who fought for France during WW1 and were awarded the Crois de Guerre.
  • I Remember Harlem, 1980 it portrays the history of Harlem from 1600-1980
  • The Liberators:Fighting on Two Fronts in WW2, 1992 was Oscar nominated for best feature documentary. Tells the story of African American soldiers in the all Black 761st tank Battalion who helped liberate concentration camp victims.

NOTE: I have been unable to verify the status of the Miles documentary. I requested written material which was not sent. Although I have spoken on the phone with Mr. Miles I have no other reliable input about this project.
