This is Matt's
grave where he was reinterred April 6, 1988 along with
his wife Lucy Ross Henson. The monument is the result
of efforts. His book and a
National Geographic article both provide the details
of his tribute to Henson. Notice the sphere
in the background which is Robert Peary's monument -
a globe representing Earth with a bronze star at the
North Pole; the prize which he and Henson achieved
together.
